Striped Round Wood Halloween Wreath
With our annual Halloween party coming up, we are always looking for fun new ideas to create handmade crafty prizes to giveaway. I saw this idea to make striped wreaths over at Pretty Providence, I decided to alter mine and use leftover press board. These wreaths will be a fun addition to our Halloween party prize table. To create your own wood wreath you will need 1/2″ to 1″ thick wood of your choice. I used a 1″ thick press board to make my wreaths. First create a circle template. Using my personal cutting machine to create a 12″ circle template made it easy. You will trace your circle template onto your wood and…

Stamped metal and leather cuffs made from old belts
This summer I was in charge of a youth camp for girls ages 12-18 years old. The girls always like making crafts for one of the activities during camp. As I thought about the kinds of crafts the girls like to make. I thought about how much effort goes into cutting wood and supplies for crafts that we have made in the past at youth camps. Often I have found that the girls only liked the items made at camp for a short period of time and then they are thrown away or donated to thrift stores. Wanting to make something that wasn’t too large or took a lot of…

Hobby Lobby knock off Fireworks sign
while scrolling through social media one day, I came across an advertisement for some 4th of July decorations at Hobby Lobby. They had a darling sign that said “fireworks” in the advertisement. After looking more closely at the advertisement, I decide that the fireworks sign was actually a chalkboard that they had written the word on. I knew I wanted to create something similar but, I wanted mine to be a long term piece that I could add to my seasonal decorations. I decided to create a framed sign that looked like it was a chalkboard with writing but, use regular black paint and white vinyl to make it permanent.…

DIY Polly Pocket Mini Cake Dresses
With summer fast approaching as a mom I am always looking for ideas to keep the kids busy. These DIY Polly Pocket Mini Cake Dresses will definitely keep the kids happy for a few hours. My daughter has been begging me for sometime to help her make a Barbie cake. After watching several tutorials with her I decided that they look like a bit of work. I also am not a huge fan of cake with a ton of frosting! I wasn’t too big on the idea of having a giant cake go to waste or letting my kids devour an entire cake and have a sugar rush! The other day my daughter had brought out her…

First take 3 wood floor slats and cut them 22″ in length. Then glue the tongue and grooves together of each slat using wood glue. The wood flooring pieces are exactly 5″ in width. By putting all 3 strips together the…
