How to make hanging Ghosts

Ghostly Greetings

Halloween is a fun spooky time of the year and definately a kids holiday! My girls and I decided to whip up some ghosts that we had seen in the Better Homes and Garden magazine. I ran to the dollar store and purchased some $1 bowls. Once home I drilled a small hole into the center of each bowl then reinforced the holes with duct tape so they wouldn’t crack. We then spray painted each bowl white.

While the bowls were drying we went into the house and cut out some fun mouths and eyes out of felt for our ghosts and also cut some white fabric to drape over each bowl. Here are my girls getting creative with their eyes and mouths!

We then glued the felt eyes and mouths onto the white fabric and poked holes into the center of the fabric to match up with the hole in the bowl. The holes are to string your rope through. Once we draped the bowls with our white sheets we pulled the rope through the center to hang them!

One thing I learned is not to put these up high because if the wind kicks up the white fabric will loop up around the top and I have had to climb a ladder multiple times to fix them so it doesn’t look like a white bowl dangling with a sheet off to the side of it. After fixing them once or twice I took some spray glue and glued the fabric down to the bowl. Otherwise they are super cute hanging on my front porch!
