I am soo ready for warmer weather and to see all the flowers bloom! Bring on May because I hope it brings some warmer weather with it. I still need to fix the ribbon so it looks right but you get the idea 😉 Wood, Paint, vinyl – those three items bring a smile to my face.

Plate redo vinyl style
Out garage saling a few weeks ago I picked up these two plates for about .25 cents eacj. One plate was teal and the other plate a pale yellow. They were most likely from the 70’s or early 80’s I brought them home and scrubbed them up. I wanted to do the chevron stripes on the plates but got frustrated with working to convert my stripes into an svg file so I found this pattern online and did the conversion just fine. I will continue to figure out the stripes but today is not the day 😉 With having a smaller cricut I have found I am limited on how…

Decorative Tray made from a picture frame
I saw this idea on tater tots and jello but did mine just a bit different. I took a 8×10 frame and painted it black. I also painted some old wood knobs that I had black. Once dry I took the knobs and glued them onto the bottom of the frame. On the inside I took scrapbook paper and cut it to size to fit into the frame. I added some decorative ribbon along the edges then put it in between the glass and backing of the frame. Set it on the table added my .25 cent garage sale metal bucket. Did a printable into a frame and look how…

Spring Banner
I borrowed a die cut from my girlfriend and cut this banner out of scrapbook paper. I haven’t been much into the banner’s but when I saw how cute this was on my basement mantle I fell in love! I added some cute flowers and glittered them, although you can’t see the glitter it added so much. I also added plastic egges in between each pennant. Just opened them up and clamped them shut on top of the string. I had some hurricane candle holders that have always had candles in them. I took the candles out and put in some cheap plastic easter eggs!(The sissors on the mantle are…

Beadboard Frames
I really try to be frugal when I craft but sometimes my ideas turn out to be more of a pain then what I bargain for. So I found these frames at a garage sale for .25 cents a piece and thought oh those would be a piece of cake to redo. I took them home and as you can see they had scrapbook paper mod podged onto them. Piece of cake to remove right? WRONG! I peeled back the first layer to find yet another layer. Then just tore back the corner to reveal probably 3 more layers of scrapbook paper and mod podge. Coated on the bottom and…

Quick Wedding gift.
This literally takes about 45 minutes and most of that is drying time of paint. Took a board painted it black and let it dry. Measured the board for vinyl Using their Last name in cream color then adding “families are forever” over the top in deep red vinyl. Super easy!

Spring garland
I cut about 8 2×2 squares out of wood, painted each square a different bright color, made cute images and words on my cricut using different colors of vinyl, drilled holes in each corner of the tops of each square then strung them together using wire. Easy craft that added just a little touch around my front door. Do you think I should add some ribbon or fabric ties in between each wood square? Very simple but added just a little touch of spring!

Felt Flower Bouquet and new cuttlebug!
I finally bit the bullet and found myself a used cuttle bug in the classifieds. The lady selling it also gave me quite a few embossing templates but I am super excited that it cuts fabric & dies also! My friend Krystal has one and let me borrow some of her die cuts to try out. I am in love. I have also hit a few garage sales and have been able to purchase some items for this cuttle bug for dirt cheap! Including bundles of fabric and felt. I used this die to cut out the cute felt flowers for my spring bouquet I used buttons to garnish the…

Easter Subway Art
I love subway art and I have done it a few different ways. This time I took a piece of wood and cut all the vinyl out on my cricut. Since I bought the sure cuts a lot software it is so nice not to have to buy cartridges for my cricut anymore and I have been able to be more creative! I am still trying to figure it all out and I know I have wasted some vinyl and paper but how else do you learn? I am seriously dying to have a nice new camera. A big beauty that will take clear cut pictures! But for now you…

Dads Token’s
How cute is this? One of my all time favorite blogs to follow is Eighteen25. I found this cute Token Tin on there blog and My daughter automatically knew she wanted to make this for her dad for his Birthday. So I printed off the free printables and we washed out a plastic container we had kept from some bath salts, added a little scrapbook paper around the edge and made up the coupons. Silly girl gave him a coupon to comb his goatee!! we got a laugh out of that one! Great gift Idea for a child to do and it’s CHEAP!
