4th of July burlap pillow sleeve
I saw this idea for a pillow sleeve over here at the polka dot chair. Pure genius I tell you!!! Why didn’t I think of this! I used her sleeve idea, I created my own design. I need a new 4th of July pillow cover. I came up with some 4th of July words and created a templet and cut it on freezer paper using my personal cutting machine. I ironed the freezer paper templet onto my burlap sewn sleeve. Next I painted my template red. After the paint was dry I removed the freezer paper! Now I have a quick new way to decorate my pillows!

Framed burlap & Fabric ruffled flag
I found this darling idea for a framed ruffled burlap flag here. She has a really great tutorial showing how she made hers. I loved the idea with the burlap I wanted to give it my own twist, I also wanted a deeper red and blue color. I choose to use some 4th of July fabrics I had on hand for the red and blue sections of my flag. As I began gluing and ruffling layers. I felt like it still need something more. This is where the lace came in. I glued a layer of white lace in between my stripe layers. The lace just gave it one more…

Light up Anchor
I made this giant light up anchor back in February when I was decorating for a women’s conference. The same conference I made the keep calm anchor boards for. I cut an anchor template out of paper using my personal cutting machine then I traced the anchor design onto some plywood. Then using a jigsaw my husband cut out the anchor. Next, I measured the spacing for my lights then drilled out holes for the lights to fit in. I gave the anchor a good sanding to make sure all edges were smooth. I added a little of my magic glaze mix to the base of the board. Then painted…

Keep Calm Anchor Board
Back in February I helped decorate for a women’s conference. We used a nautical theme for this conference and this is when I started falling in love with the nautical and beach decor! We had 30 tables to make centerpieces for so we decided on 3 different themes for the tables so I ended up making 10 of these keep calm anchors boards for 10 of the 30 tables. We placed them next to a lantern and fresh flowers in a mason jar. To do these I painted the boards white and then created a template with the words and anchor using my sure cuts a lot program. I…

Beachy Sea Horse boards
For my sarcastic welcome boards, I was overly ambitious. I had great plans of making 16 of those for friends, family and maybe a few to sell. I painted my little heart out and managed to get 16 of the fully painted with polka dots and stripes. I began cutting and getting the vinyl ready, if you have ever done vinyl the peeling process can get very tedious! The end result was I actually only finished 6 of the sarcastic welcome boards. Well at least I got some of them done! Here I was with 10 painted ready to go darling boards. I needed to do something with them. I…

Sarcastic Welcome board
Sarcastic Welcome board I wanted to make a fun little handmade gift for a few of my fellow crafty friends. I had found this fun little quote a while back and knew I wanted to use it on some kind of craft project. I know this saying has nothing to do with Mothers’ Day. I love quirky quotes and although it may not even be welcoming it made me laugh! I know at some point in time all of us have felt this way!! I decided to paint up several different sizes of boards. Just some random stuff I had laying around. I painted them all cream to start with…

How to make a Bracket Board Clock
How to make a Bracket Board Clock I always see this bracket or label design floating around on Pinterest or Facebook and I just love this shape on anything!!! If you haven’t noticed I do have a little obsession going on with clocks right now. I thought this would be a perfect combination so the idea for the bracket board clock was born! I got to work searching for free wood and luckily there is a company close to where I live that has a free wood pile. They usually have stacks and stacks of pallets so I decided to run over there and grab a few. After I brought them…

Mother’s Day Finger print family tree gift If you’re on the search for a simple yet meaningful gift to give this Mother’s Day then you have come to right place! We made this Finger print family tree for my mom and then placed it in a nice frame. The first step to create your own finger print family tree is to find a tree silhouette you like. How to glaze or age wood projects (The Cheap & Easy Way)
How to glaze or age wood projects (The Cheap & Easy Way) I have seen may techniques to glaze furniture projects but they usually consist of buying an expensive glaze product and then comes all the different stages of mixing, coats, wiping etc… The same thing goes for tutorials on how to age wood such as needing to place a penny in vinegar or steel wool for 3 days then apply and let the wood sit for a week or something to that effect. Who has time for all those steps and days of waiting?? My crafting and project time is never set. It’s 5 minutes here and there or an…

DIY Glittered picture frame stand
DIY Glittered picture frame stand I have a funny story about why I made this picture frame stand. The nurse’s at my sons Dr’s office had cupcakes waiting for us at our last appointment. They got in a little tiff about who in the office actually gave them to us. Afterwards I decided to make them something fun to put on their desks at work. I knew it needed to involve cupcakes some how. I have had a bunch of frames, candlesticks and these decorative wooden frames sitting in my craft room so, I decide to combine all of them to make this cute picture frame stand. First I painted…
