Front porch picket fence

It’s time for summer time colors!

When I see a project on Pinterest there are times I can’t hold back and I just have to create it. So, when the wheels get turning sometimes I can’t stop until I have it completed.
Although I do have to admit sometimes I have my own ideas on how I want a project to look verses how someone else’s project turned out. I am ready to bring on summer and with summer comes the bright cheery colors! My front porch has always been an area that I like to look festive. The picket fence idea came from Positively Splendid I didn’t use chalk board paint I just used normal spray paint and did mine a bit different.

First off was the quest to get the materials. When I got to Lowe’s I found a rather long picket fence that didn’t match ANYTHING in the rest of the store. I inquired about it and no one could figure out where it came from or how much it was. After a little negotiation I ended up getting the entire fence for $10.00. My girlfriend and I decided we could cut it in half making it only $5 for each of us and we would both get a picket fence on our front porch out of it.
That saved myself and my husband from having to do any major cutting of wood and assembling.

My hubby just pulled the center board out and cut it basically in half to create two smaller fences.

Once he completed that I spray painted both picket fences with a bright turquoise color. (I went bright so it would stand out on my front porch)
while the fences were drying my girlfriend and I set out to create these cute no sew flower medallions to add to our picket fences.

They turned out so bright and colorful! I have even thought of making a wreath out of these cute flowers. They were a little time consuming but fairly easy.

Once the flowers were done we added them to our fences and made up a cute sign out of wood and vinyl to dangle from our fences. It added so much color to my front porch!

The length of the fence ended up being 3 1/2 ft. long and 3 ft. tall.
