First gather your round birch bases – Luckily we scored these from an awesome neighbor who had a lot sitting by the side of her house. She was kind enough to part with them! Each log is cut into a 4″ thick slab. The dimensions around the flat surface of the log are approx. 12″ to 14″. So you can…

Festive Fall Signs
There are so many fun Autumn sayings out there! While we were making gifts for our Halloween party last month, we made several fun fall signs to give away as prizes. I painted each board white and then distressed the boards using a sander. I purchased some of the wording templates and used my personal cutting machine to cut the vinyl. Autumn Skies and Apple Pies Sign
One of my favorite ways to make signs is by layering different types of boards together. I saw this fun phrase on a Cricut web page they had made a pallet sign. I decided to layer a piece of bead board that I painted orange and distressed with a thin smooth board that I stained. I glued the two boards together and then created the wording by cutting white vinyl using my personal cutting machine. I centered the vinyl wording over the stained board and applied the vinyl. I love how using different types of wood and techniques can create a new look.
