Quick Crafty Birthday Gift Idea
Quick Crafty Birthday Gift Idea When I give gifts, I usually try to personalize the gift in some way. I love to give homemade items or share treats or products I love. This little gift basket is a sampling of all those things! I love chocolate, baking and crafting! That became the theme of this gift. I started out by making an apron out of reusable shopping bags!!! I used the nicer sturdier ones you can find at Home Goods/ TJ Maxx. Then I used this great step by step tutorial found here. I have made several of these aprons over the past few years. They are a quick 15-20…

Hop mini burlap banner
Hop mini burlap banner For this project I had the pleasure of working with consumer crafts. They have a wide variety of craft supplies that are very affordable for crafters. I was able to use their Pre-cut mini burlap 3 pack buntings for this project. I love that consumer crafts has such a variety of supplies. They have everything from kids craft supplies to home décor, floral, scrapbooking and party supplies. My favorite part is you can shop in the comfort of you own home. Sometimes, I just don’t feel liking leaving my house and can still shop and order all my crafting goodies. This was a 5 minute project!!!…

“DIY” No Sew Polka Dot Spring Banner
“DIY” No Sew Polka Dot Spring Banner I have seen all kinds of fun printed burlap and knew I wanted them. Then I went and looked at the price of these printed burlap fabric’s and saw that they were $15 per yard!!! Yikes that is a lot of money! uhhhh no thanks!!! even with a coupon for 40-50 off it still isn’t worth that price for me. I can usually buy plain burlap for $2 a yard on sale or with a coupon. I came home and decided to see how difficult it would be to create my own. Believe it or not this banner only took 15 minutes to make. …

April Fools Dinner
April Fools Dinner I love April Fools Day and it is just around the corner! Any ideas of what you will be doing for pranks??? Here is a fun dinner prank that I am sure the kids will enjoy! It’s a 4 course meal all made of cupcakes!!! Now, who wouldn’t enjoy that for dinner??? The idea came from one of my all time favorite cook books Hello Cupcake. I know these may look a little intense or time consuming, they really are not. They are actually really easy. To get the shape of the drum stick you use donut holes, that you frost on top of the cupcake. Then…

Glitter Bunny
Glitter Bunny This is such a fun statement piece for Easter and it is very simple to create. First I purchased a frame from the dollar store, then spray painted the frame purple. Next, I chose a fun bright polka dot scrapbook paper for the back ground. I cut the scrapbook paper to the size of the frame and glued it to the backing of the frame. Someone had given me these darling white bunny chipboard cut out’s. If you don’t have the chipboard cut out’s like I did then you could easily print off a bunny silhouette on cardstock and hand cut these or use a personal cutting machine…

Easter Glitter Block
Easter Glitter Block For this project I used a scrap block of wood measuring 6″ x 5″. I painted my block a fun lime green color then while it was drying I went online and purchased the Easter design for the block off of the silhouette online store. Silhouette is having a great sale right now. I cut the Easter design out on my Silhouette using a bright bubble gum pink vinyl. Once the paint was dry on my block, I placed the vinyl on my block. For this project I also had the pleasure of working with consumer crafts. They have a wide variety of craft supplies that are…

Framed Chicken Wire Easter Egg
Framed Chicken Wire Easter Egg Originally I saw a an ideas for this chicken wire frame on Studio 5. They had made a heart for Valentines day, and had done it using ribbon. I thought this was a great idea and that an egg shape should be pretty simple to make. I gave it a go using strips of ribbon at first. It turned out horrible!!!! you couldn’t even tell that it was suppose to be an egg and the colored ribbon didn’t go well together. I was totally bummed!!!! Then one day, while I was on a pinterest bindge! this similar idea showed up in my feed.…

Spring Seeds for sale sign
Spring Seeds for sale sign I have been on a sign making binge lately. I have been seeing an assortment of fun signs everywhere and it has made me want to make more signs! I found the idea for this sign on Etsy. I wanted something bright and cheery for Spring so, for my sign I mixed a creamy lemon color with a couple of different paints that I had on hand. I picked out one of my scrap piece hardwood flooring boards to paint. This time I decided to paint on the backside of the flooring board instead of the smooth side. It was rough and had no finish…

Rise & Shine Spring Décor Board
Rise & Shine Spring Décor Board Years ago I was at a little shop and saw a darling sign. For some reason it has stuck with me. I remembered the little saying it had. After I made the Wicked Chicken sign, I knew this saying would compliment it. From my memory this sign was similar in color to the wicked chicken sign. A deep barn red and very rustic. I could see it in a shabby country kitchen style of décor. Since I have nothing like that in my home and I have been wanting bright spring colors. This little memory of mine is going to get re-vamped in a…
