Rocket Party ” Daddy & Daughter Date”
I help with a youth group here in my area, a few times a month we have different activities for elementary age girls to participate in. About every 6 months we do a larger activity or party and we usually try to involve the parents. We knew that we wanted to have some kind of dad and daughter activity this time. We searched pinterest high and low and couldn’t really find anything that we knew the dads and daughters would really enjoy. After I had done a few Google searches I finally came across this great idea for a rocket party. I knew we could take the idea and make…

Suntanned toes board
Have you ever looked at a project on pinterest and coveted the item? Last year I saw this darling Suntanned toes board at the addicted 2 diy blog. I was so in love with it, she had and amazing tutorial to recreate this darling summer craft. I quickly pinned it and marked it on my craft to do project list. The only problem was somehow my summer slipped away and very few crafts happened! Every time I would scroll through my craft projects page on pinterest, this fun little project pops up and I am again reminded of what a darling idea it is. I saw it in my pinterest feed again…

Licorice Pudding Pops
Summer is here and with that comes hot temperatures and bored kids. I know pudding pops aren’t a new thing , we thought we would give ours a yummy twist by adding chopped up licorice bits to them. At first I was a little nervous at how they would turn out, I wondered if the licorice when frozen would be to hard. To my surprise it was just as soft and delicious as when we opened the package. My kids really enjoyed helping me make these, the hardest part for them was how long it took them to freeze. So, don’t be scared get your kids involved! They are really…

Baby Buggy & Onesie Lollies Gift Set
I was going through some old pictures and came across this Baby gift set I had made a few years back. A friend had paid me to make this set for a co-worker. I have made several sets similar to this one for baby showers and gifts. I realized how much fun it was to make these and personalized them to the mothers taste. Finding these pictures made me want to whip up another gift set, the sad part it I can’t think of anyone that is expecting right now! So, instead I have decided to share this with you and some instructions on how to make your own…

Baby Statistics Framed Gift
About a year ago I was commissioned by my sister in law to make a fun personalized baby gift, for her sister who had just had her first baby. The reason why this gift was even more special is these sister in laws of mine are twins!!! The craziest part is that I live in Utah and the sister in law who asked me to make something lives in Washington DC and her twin with the new baby lives in Oklahoma. It was quite the challenge understanding exactly what she wanted and then mailing out the final product without the gift giver even being able to see the finished product. She wanted all of…

Edible Summer Sand Art “Fun Dip Style”
I remember back in the late 80’s early 90’s sand art was all the rage. You could buy kits to make it at home or you could go to craft fair or a local amusement park that had a station that you could make your our sand art. Now that I have my own kids I like thinking back on things that I enjoyed doing as a child and re-creating craft days to share these similar experiences with my own children. I looked at different sand art options and then thought to myself: “wouldn’t it be fun if you could eat it also?” I decided the edible sand art would…

Celebrate Freedom Board “Hobby Lobby Knock off”
Avry and I made these USA boards around 4 years ago. I had this grand idea of how they were going to turn out and be the perfect coveted 4th of July decoration. After we finished them uhhh yeah! they were nothing like what I had in mind, actually they were pretty pathetic looking! I think I put it out on my porch for 1 season and then was to embarrassed to put it up again after that. This USA board has been sitting in my 4th of July decorations container for the last 3 years. I pulled out the USA board again and was ready to put it…

Patriotic Fringe Flag
There are so many creative ideas I see all over the web! I also love combining ideas to make it my own. For this patriotic fringe flag, I found this idea at optimistic mommy and this idea on close to your heart etsy shop and made it into one. I loved both of them but thought they would work great together! Follow these instructions to make your own patriotic fringe flag. First gather any patriotic fabrics and ribbon you have then a pieced of wood, it really can be any size you want. I used leftover wood flooring pieces they were all different sizes and shapes, yes to did paint 10 different boards. I am making them…

America Star Slat Board
I know I am always talking about my amazing brother bringing me all this awesome wood! He consistently brings me his leftover hardwood flooring scraps! The best part is a lot of the time they are already cut into great lengths and some are even the same size! Yay for me! I am always finding new ways to use up this fun free wood. Sometimes I paint the floor slats and other times I love the wood look. For this project I decided to keep it the stained wood look. I took 3 pieces that were 15″ tall and glued them together. Next I cut a Star templet out of contact…

4th of July Bunting
Over a year ago Avry and I made these coffee filter wreaths. I still am in love with my wreath, I usually keep it up year round. I am always looking for ways to decorate it and keep it in play for the holiday’s. I made this fun little bunting to hang over my wreath for the upcoming 4th of July holiday. You could use this idea for any item you want to spruce up. I cut 3 burlap triangles that measure 5″ tall by 4″ at wide at the top. I found 3 scraps of 4th July holiday fabrics and cut them 4 1/2″ tall by 3 1/2″ wide at the top. I used…
