Easy Fall/Harvest boards
I found the idea for these for fall/harvest boards at Simply Kierste. She is offering a free cut file and great tutorial too! I had a few wood scraps hanging around like always, I just adjusted the cut file to match the size of my boards. I mixed up my famous wood glaze, let it dry and then got to work painting these cute pumpkin and fall boards. Check out her site and give it a try.

Picket fence board with Hanging frame
I found this small picket fence thing at a yard sale. It has the word BOO painted and glittered on it, pom poms, and a straw banner. When I first looked at it there was just to much going on. I did love the picket fence idea, I purchased it and brought it home to think about. After I decided that I was going to add a knob and hang a frame from it, I got to work. First I sanded off the word Boo, then repainted the board black. I cut a polka dot stencil out of contact paper, using my personal cutting machine. I applied the stencil and then…

Rustic Wooden scrap Pumpkins
I had several odds and ends of boards lying around. It wasn’t really enough for a project I was hoping to do, I was tempted just to throw the boards away. You all know I am a craft hoarder, I hate to throw out anything that has potential to be something amazing. I started playing around and placing the boards together and then I saw this idea over at make it love it and knew this boards could be cute rustic pumpkins. I placed 3 boards next to each other and then traced a pumpkin shape around the boards, I also took 2 more boards and placed them side by…

Halloween count down boards
Everyone loves a countdown board! I love it when I get to use and repurpose random things I have laying around. I had purchased this blue scalloped square tin for .25, Avry has had this unfinished wood board at her house for ever. When we talked about making some countdown boards for prizes for our Halloween party, both of us knew we had just the item that would work! I started out by spray painting my blue tin with chalkboard paint. Avry painted her board all black with craft paint. Next I cut 2 different countdown style wording out of vinyl, using my personal cutting machine. Avry looped several ribbons…

Halloween Variety of signs and wooden boards
Because we love to give out so many gifts at our Halloween party, we have to find ways to make items on the cheap. A few of our favorite cheap craft supplies are: Paint, vinyl, and wood scraps. We have a local industrial park near by one of the companies has a pile of free wood, it’s usually pallets and other wooden crates. We also buy a lot of our paint at yard sales and in the mis-tint section at the hardware store. My favorite place for vinyl is Regional supply they have a section of remnants or end of the roll, you can get several yards for a few…

Bewitching Trick or Treat Bag
A few years back I picked up some canvas tote bag kits, they were marked 90 percent off at my local craft store. Score!!! Right??? well I thought it was a score, until I opened the packages and realized the bags had designs printed on them. I had not realized that the design was actually on the bag, I thought the pictures were giving ideas of what you could do with them. I know you are think a pre-design canvas bag may not be a bad thing, but these designs were less that desirable. I stuck them in a drawer the and began the think about it process, where they bags were eventually long…

Free Flying lessons
This was a fun little craft to put together. I found the small witches hat at a yard sale for .25, I knew I could figure out something to do with it. I decided to paint a block and then using my cutting machine I cut the design for the witch flying school out of vinyl. I applied the vinyl onto the block, it just felt so plain! I set the hat on top of the block just playing around with the idea, I really liked how it looked but, felt it hid the design on the block. Next I grabbed a candle stick to see what it would look…

Halloween chargers
With our upcoming Halloween party I am always on the search for items that could quickly and easily be transformed. Some of the items I often look for at yard sales are plates and chargers. I can usually find them from .10-.25 each and they are easily painted and decorated. I know this sounds really cheap and like a cheesy item for a prize. But, when Avry and I make all of our prizes and gifts for our Halloween party we always try to make items that we would display or want in our own homes. Sometimes it is difficult to give away items we have made for prizes. This year during our many crafting…

The Witching Hour Clock
Sometimes I can be a hoarder, not a bad hoarder with piles and stacks everywhere your look. I am a basement hoarder and I hoard craft supplies and home décor items. It’s so hard when you yard sale and see items that are .25-$1 and you know you shouldn’t get them but they are such a deal! Most of time I buy things without having a clue what I will do with it. That is the story with this clock, it is quite a large clock. I found it at a yard sale about 2 years ago, it was marked $1 and how could I pass up a deal like…

Mini Fabric Halloween treat bags
Avry and I have been gearing up for our annual Halloween party. Every year we give away tons of handmade prizes, last year we gave away 70-80 prizes. One of our favorite things is to share our crafts with others, it is so much fun to spend weeks creating the prizes for our party and then watch our guests pine over the prizes they want to win. The last few years we have had a few team activities or games we play during the party. We like to give prizes for everything, we usually come up with a smaller prize for the team games. This year I sewed up 6 of…
