As many of you know, my son gets weekly shots at our local hospital. He has 2 fantastic nurses who have taken him under there wings. They are amazing and make him want to come see them every week, they even call him the office boyfriend. Every year we put together a package during nurses week, to thank them for all the amazing care they have provided for my child. This year I put together a few little gifts. Made them these wooden boards with a heart that has all different kinds of items related to nurses. To create the boards first I cut some scrape would to 5…

Round Monogrammed Wood Sign
After I took down my Easter décor I was having a hard time putting up last years spring décor. I wanted something new and some sort of a statement piece for my front door. Hubby and I were out and about one day in our golf cart and we happened to pass a house that had something on their front door that peaked my interest. I took a picture of it then kept the general idea in the back of my mind. Fast forward 2 weeks later (this past weekend) Hubby and I ran to Home Depot to get some wood for a shelf in my closet and other miscellaneous…

How Sweet it is sign
As you know I was commissioned by a good friend to help with her daughter’s wedding. I created this Family name bracket board sign for the lovely couple. I was also given the assignment of making a sign that said “HOW SWEET IT IS” They wanted the sign to be used as a backdrop for the sweets bar that would be served at the reception. I took on the task of making this large fun sign. I have a large mirror in the formal living room of my home, many years ago I created a vintage frame for this mirror. I knew I would be able to remove the frame…

Family Name Rustic Bracket Board Sign
The last few months I have been helping a good friend plan and organize for her daughters wedding. During all of the planning and crafting, I got a good feel for her daughters style. As I helped with several decorations I knew that making them a Family name sign would be perfect! My first thought was to use some old boards or pallet wood. As I began looking through my wood hoard, I remembered that last year I had put together about 18 of these bracket boards! I am crazy) Sometimes when I get in the groove of a project, I get carried away! If saws, equipment, materials and time…

Repairing my lawn after Winter damage plus a fun kids craft using Scotts EZ Seed
This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #LoveYourLawn #CollectiveBias #ad I love this time of year and watching everything come into bloom. I also LOVE working in my yard and on my lawn. There is something therapeutic about digging in the dirt and smelling the fresh blooming flowers. I think my love of my yard came from my mother. W e spent a lot of time out in our yard growing up, we would plant a garden, weed, plant flowers and enjoy swinging from our big huge trees! As an adult I still want to be able to run barefoot…

Easter Bunny Basket Bags
Way back in the 80’s my mom made all of us kids one of these Bunny Basket bags for Easter. I have many fond memories of putting our bunny out each year and then the Easter bunny would come fill our bunny with Easter treats. These little bunny basket bags served as our Easter basket for many years. A few years ago on Easter I noticed that one of the Bunny basket bags was out and filled, it was for my brother who still lives at home. I had completely forgotten about these bags. This year I asked my mom if she still had any of the Bunny basket bags…

Rest Your Tail Easter Board
In my last post I talked about pre-painted wood scraps you have on hand. This was another quick project because of pre-painted wood. Avry came over the other night and we decided we needed to be productive so, while we were chatting and catching up on life. I added this little bunny and saying together in my computer program. Next we cut the saying our of purple vinyl using my personal cutting machine. We pulled out 2 white boards that we had pre-painted a while ago. I gave them a quick sanding using my electric sander. We centered and applied the vinyl to the boards. We thought they still needed…

Thrill of the hunt Easter sign
With Easter right around the corner, Avry and I decided we better get to work and come up a few new fun items to add to our Easter décor. You all know how much we love vinyl! It is just so easy to work with. Often Avry and stockpile wood scraps, if we are painting some for a project we will often paint a few more boards. It is really nice to have pre-painted boards on hand. We usually try to have white and black pre-painted boards on hand and a few colored ones. A couple of weeks ago we painted several boards in spring and bright colors in preparation…

It’s Mine Coke Kaleidoscope lighted Marquee
This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #ItsMyMasterpiece #CollectiveBias #ad Have you seen the new “It’s mine” Diet Coke bottles? They are absolutely darling and each bottle has a different unique design. I love the glass bottles because it brings back the classic feel of how long Coke products have been around. We had a little informal Coke get together at my house and sipped on the great tasting Diet Coke. When we were finished I saw all those empty bottles and Krystal had the idea to upcycle those bottles and create a fun lighted Marquee out of them. We…

Believe in Luck Board
I came across this quote the other day! It struck me, what a great quote and it goes hand in hand with St. Patrick’s day. I knew I needed to make something with this quote on it! I followed my heart and resulted in using my trusty vinyl and boards!!! I wanted this quote to be fairly large, I picked out a thin larger board for this project. First we painted the boards white. While they were drying I set up the word template using my personal cutting machine. I chose to cut most of the wording out of a dark green vinyl. I knew I wanted the Luck cut in…
