Whew glad that wasn’t a lot of work
I am still yawning. What a whirlwind weekend we had last weekend and I am not going to lie for the most part for me it sucked! Not because we didn’t have a lot of good things going on because we really did. But overall it was very stressful for me.
I have decided I am not going to sugar coat my posts anymore those who know me will love me for who I am even if I choose to be negative sometimes. haha!! I am going to be REAL.
So back to the weekend Savanna made the choice to be baptized and what a great decision! We have been anticipating this day for a long time but along with it came weeks and weeks of missionary discussions & the worry of whether her mom would let her or not. Friday night my family (Dad, Mom, Brother Geoff & his fiance’ Cheryl) came down to stay with us for the Baptism. Justin decided to bail on me Friday night without telling me to take some “me” time for himself which left me home alone with all 4 kids.. now some of you may say “yeah? so what is the big deal?” but a lot of you don’t have blended families either. To explain a little better when I have all four kids I tend to get a little stressed & have a bit of anxiety. I gave birth to only two for a reason as one of my biggest weaknesses is having no patience. I am trying to get better at it. But it is just a trial that God gave me. To top it off we had our 5th child Adam here with us (Kaden’s best friend) With 5 kids I will be the first to admit I need help.
I got up the courage & brought out the egg dye & set out to color eggs with my kids. At this point I “thought” I could take the night on with 5 kids. I couldn’t get the kids to settle down and kept repeating myself to “settle down.”
Maeli ended up getting hurt while rough housing with her siblings. After I mended her injuries & got her to quit crying I felt like everything was okay and I had regained control. So the egg dying began, during the first 10 minutes I had told Sam to sit down 4 times while coloring eggs & she kept ignoring me. Next thing I knew she bumped the blue dye and it was being spilled all over onto the carpet, right before it happened my mom & dad had walked through the door otherwise I think I would have started crying.
Thank goodness my mom was there to sit on the floor with me & scrub her little heart out. The stain is Bright blue on my carpet and I can’t get it to come out. I am beginning to realize that with kids I can’t expect my house to be perfect. (I am sure many of you can relate) Anyways I will quit being a “Debbie downer” (as Wes tells Erin) and show you some of the fun pictures of the kids & myself dying easter eggs.
Here are Sav and Maeli acting goofy!
Me with the one and only egg I dyed! haha!
I have so much more to post about but don’t have the time right now so I will post more about the weekend and Savanna’s baptism when I get the chance.

LOL “Debbie Downer”…OK you have your hands full! What a fantastic person to get the dye out and eggs out! I don’t do it and I have only 3 kids. Bravo! So for being totally stressed, at least you looked fabulous! That pic of you is beautiful! Hang in there 🙂

I am done at three children for the same reason…I have no patience. I didn’t even do the egg dye this year! You are a great mother and stepmother. Don’t ever forget that!!

Looks like fun, even if it was a little stressful! 🙂 Egg dying definitely happens on the linoleum floor at my house. Much easier to clean up than carpet! I am seriously considering ditching the carpet in all my house and putting either hardwood, tile or linoleum everywhere!! Messes solved! lol

Michele the people who owned this house before us put carpet under the dining area.. believe me if I had the mula it would be ripped out!
LIFE IS GOOD!
Ahhhhhh! Think of the memories you created and the story of the blue dye on the carpet. You did handle it remarkable and the carpet is replaceable.

Sorry about your carpet. I have decided the biggest expense with children (especially my youngest) is not the diapers, doctors, clothing, school, sports, etc. It's with everything that you have to fix & replace that they've broken or destroyed. Is it in a spot where you can put furniture over it?

You are one brave woman! Our boiled eggs are still sitting in the fridge waiting to be colored–or eaten! I didn’t even see the dye on the floor when I was there… We sure had a great time and the baptism was great. Thanks for having us. Hope you can recover this week!
