Summertime fun

Where to begin??

Man time has just flown by! I have been slacking in the blogging area. I don’t even know where to begin with all that has been going on so I will be breaking the past few weeks down into several posts.

The kids finished up school on June 5th and although they were all excited I was not. Summer time for me turns into a count down of when we will all be back together again and back into a routine. This summer has been especially hard on me as we still have Justin’s girls all summer but Kaden & Maeli are gone. It has made me miss them more & I have been in somewhat of a slump the past week just wishing circumstances were different & that my kids were with me ALL the time. Anyways back to the last day of school. Kaden missed his last 3 days of school as he chose to go up to his dad’s earlier. I won’t let that happen again as he missed out on so many fun events the last few days. So on the last day we took the 3 girls to dinner & the dollar store. Dinner was a disaster as Sam spilled her whole strawberry lemonade in Maeli’s lap, neither Justin nor I had much patience that night & the bill was outrageous! But afterwards I was able to calm Maeli’s tears when I told her we would go to the dollar store. What is it about kids and dollar stores? They just love them! We remembered why we don’t eat out much.. it is just so expensive now days!

On Saturday the 6th of June we journeyed down to American Fork for my niece Macey’s baptism. Now Macey is my first husbands sisters (Jenny) daughter who was getting baptized. (hope that made sense)
Although we divorced I have still kept in contact with most of my old inlaws. It was fun to see Macey & Maeli reconnect and play together here is a cute picture of the two of them together after the baptism.

After the Baptism we went to Jenny’s for dinner it was a lot of fun catching up with my old sister in laws & ex mother in law. I do miss them sometimes and I am glad I had the opportunity to see them. The Baptism was very sweet and Macey looked absolutely beautiful! We left Maeli there with her Grandma Marilyn so she could go back to Idaho.

Justin, myself, Sav & Sam took a drive up into American Fork Canyon as I wanted to hike up to the Timpanogos caves. There were so many people hiking up to the caves that we decided to drive up to Tibble Fork Reservoir and hike around instead.

The sun kept coming in and out of the clouds so it was a beautiful cool day. We enjoyed hiking for a while and watched the fishermen fish. We loaded back up in the car and drove the whole Alpine loop. It was a beautiful day!

I am also excited to see everything in my yard that has been blooming & growing. Last fall we planted a cherry tree, an apricot tree & a peach tree. We were told by the nursery that it would be a few years until they produced fruit but look what I have growing on my trees!

I love summer time!

LOL. Hmm… where have I seen the picture of your lone cherry on the tree? Oh I know, maybe once or twice or three times up in Idaho a few weeks ago. It was so cute to see how proud you were of the cherry on your tree. It is fun to see the "fruits of your labor" when you plant something.

As for the cute girl… we hit Dollar Tree today to kill sometime. Minimal damage – came out with some headbands.

we need to find you a cheap plane ticket to hop on over and see Maeli for the weekend or something.

How fun, to already get some fruit from your trees! It's so fun to see stuff like that actually work! LOL! How fun, to go hiking, that's something I haven't done for a long time! You guys seem to always have fun ideas, to get out, and do something!

Great pictures! Yummy on the fruit trees. I hope they do really well. It is so fun eating what you have grown.

We should try to get together sometime and let the girls play. If you ever head up this way, give me a call and we'll hang out!

Give us a call next time you are down this way! We love going up the canyon! I am with you…eating out is so expensive these days. Maybe it is just that my kids eat more? We need to get together!
