The Clapper

Two claps to turn it on & two claps to turn it off, with a special remote control if you don’t want clap. AKA – The clapper!
Because of my Hypothyroidism I tend to get tired very very easily especially at night. Shortly after Justin & I were married I would crawl into bed and would be so physically tired that I literally would pretend that my lamp would turn off by clapping twice. For the past 2 years I have been so tired & lazy that I would doze off before shutting the light off & Justin would nudge me to turn my lamp off. Instead of turning it off I would just lay there & clap, resulting in Justin crawling over the top of me & shutting it off or poking & prodding at me until I would do it. I hate following the cord 1/2 way down to the floor to find the switch. (Yep I am a lazy butt!)
So for 2 years I have clapped almost every night praying that one day my lamp would automatically turn off. Thursday night after staying up way too late helping my mom with the items from her wreck I finally crawled into bed at midnight. Justin had stayed up to help us & both of us were super tired. I rolled over & looked at him with that “I am to exhausted to turn off my lamp” look and he said to me “Wouldn’t it be nice to just clap & have the lamp turn off?” I rolled my eyes at him because this dream was slowly fading for me. I sat up to roll over & shut my lamp off when I heard “CLAP CLAP” and my light went OFF!!! Justin clapped twice and it went OFF!! (I am still in shock). I started giggling hysterically and Justin busted up laughing just hearing my delight. He clapped again & BAM the lamp turned back ON!
Justin had bought me a clapper!
I am telling you girls my man is a GEM! It even came with a remote control (that Justin keeps on his night stand) so if I am too big of a lazy butt to turn my lamp off he can turn it off for me without having to clap or crawl over me! Justin thinks I am a spoiled snot… I have to agree! But hey he is the one spoiling me so he can’t complain too much!
Justin has tried really hard to take stress away from me & has also purchased many timers that turn on our Fish aquarium lights, my curio, my scentsy warmers, Christmas lights, the crock pot. You name it we have it on a timer… SO just out of curiosity what devices do you use in your homes to simplify your lives?

lol that is too funny! I must say I am pretty good about things, but I might need something to shut the computer off for me instead of me staying up half the night on it! UGH so stupid! lol
Anyway, I have a “TAG” for you over at my scrapbook blog so check it out! lol (http://thescrappinsunflower.blogspot.com/)

I honestly cannot think of a device I have that makes my life more simple. I need some though. Most of the devices I have make my life more complicated. Hmmm. I love reading your blog. You are entertaining. Keep it coming.

That’s hysterical. O.K., that totally sounds like your OCD, TYPE A details orientated husband. That’s my kind of man.
Devices that I use to simplify my life? I think they call it Diet Pepsi.
