Thanksgiving Day
This is how my Thanksgiving morning started out. Yup Tom the turkey staring at me or aka “carcass” (as my sister Jeralee calls it)
I was up bright and early after staying up late the night before because Justin, myself, my brother Geoff & my parents decided to hit a late night showing of the movie Twilight. I still can’t decide what I think about the movie.. I guess you could say that the books are always better then the movie.
Anyways I love hosting Thanksgiving at my house & look forward to the traditional old fashioned Thanksgiving with Turkey, Stuffing, Potatoes, Yams, Rolls, Cranberries, Pies etc. I didn’t have much prepared the night before so I was in for a busy day.
Here we are stuffing the turkey (Thanks mom)
and baking pies!! after all this we finally ate around 1:30 p.m.
Here are Tiffany & her husband Marshall- They brought a delicious pomegranate salad & a tossed salad.. mmm!
My two brothers Jason & Geoff. Jason brought the family tradition of Carrot pudding & the best cranberries & cranberry relish for the turkey. I am insisting Jason do these every year!
and of course my lovely parents! Mom I couldn’t have pulled this off without you! and dad haha.. thanks for all the humor that kept me laughing!
Here is a picture of Justin carving the Turkey for us, he is great to help out!
It was a pretty quiet Thanksgiving as neither Justin or I had our kids. I enjoyed staying home & not having to travel anywhere (after commuting everyday the last thing you want to do is commute on your day off)
We spent the rest of the afternoon being lazy & scouring the black Friday ads to try and find any good deals.
BLACK FRIDAY..
Justin rolled over and woke me up at 4:30 a.m. the day after Thanksgiving (aka black friday)
At this point after running solid & on little sleep the previous few days I didn’t know if I could do it but I didn’t want to disappoint my shopaholic husband and miss out on the biggest day of his year.. (haha just kidding Justin!) He is truly a saint for getting up & braving the crowds with me. Of course my mom joined in & between the 3 of us I would have to say we got some pretty slick deals! There was no sleep for the weary at 9:30 a.m. I ventured into work for the day & ended up later at my brother Jason’s giving him a Candy cane attack! (I will save that for another blog)
Come Saturday morning it was time to put up the tree.. It was a busy yet fun & relaxing weekend.
It was a wonderful Thanksgiving & I am truely grateful I could spend it with those that I love.

Glad you had a good Thanksgiving! Justin went to Twilight and black Friday…what an amazing husband. Steve would not have done either. Come on Avry, I know you loved Twilight. How could you not love something that had a kiss like that in it 🙂
LIFE IS GOOD!
Thanks for all you did and the fun time we had.

WHOA!!! I admire you for being a woman who can attack a turkey. I am a wimp when it comes to meat and working with it. Meat on bones scares me.
Okay also your YW night was INSANE!!! Can my girls be your YW someday?
