Summertime Grow flower sign using dishes

    June 20, 2017 / 0 Comments

One of my favorite ways to decorate and present my home is by adding fun signs to my porch and patio. With summer gardening upon us, I found this idea for a Summertime grow dish board. I love the combination of the plate flower used as the letter “o” in the word grow. Over at Wendy’s make n take you can pay for a kit or class to make this sign. I love the idea but the size of sign she was offering is rather large. I decided to create my own and make a smaller version. To create your own Summer Time grow dish board you will need: 2…

DIY Refurbish a used outdoor Iron Bistro table and chairs

    June 5, 2017 / 0 Comments

My mother contacted me one day and told me that a friend of her’s was getting rid of a wrought iron Bistro Table. She stated that it needed some work and some TLC to get it looking good again. Of course I couldn’t turn down a free table and chairs so she brought it to me. The top of the bistro table and top of the chairs were made from a press board type of wood. The bistro table had been severely sun damaged. I knew I had to replace the top. So, I contemplated what type of wood I could use to cut out for the top.  In the…

    May 19, 2017 / 0 Comments

About 2 months ago myself, my sister, Sister in law and my mom were all shopping and we decided to stop into Crate and Barrel. I was really surprised to see piles of Birch limbs and Birch Branches FOR SALE! they made darling decoration but there was no way I would spend $30.00 on 3 – YES only 3 branches! So fast forward a few weeks later when I am up at my mom’s house in Idaho and she tells me she had to cut down her beloved Birch tree because it died after many many many years. Yep! You know me and how my mind works. My mother and…

DIY Polly Pocket Mini Cake Dresses

    May 18, 2017 / 0 Comments

With summer fast approaching as a mom I am always looking for ideas to keep the kids busy.  These DIY Polly Pocket  Mini Cake Dresses will definitely keep the kids happy for a few hours.  My daughter has been begging me for sometime to help her make a Barbie cake.  After watching several tutorials with her I decided that they look like a bit of work.  I also am not a huge fan of cake with a ton of frosting! I wasn’t too big on the idea of having a giant cake go to waste or letting my kids devour an entire cake and have a sugar rush!   The other day my daughter had brought out her…

DIY Fresh Cut Flowers Rustic Outdoor Garden Sign

    May 15, 2017 / 2 Comments

If one thing is certain we love making signs and we love using scrap wood to do it. The cheaper we can create a project the better it is on our crafting budget. This Fresh Cut Flowers rustic garden sign is no exception to using the wood floor planks that we do. Who can pass up free wood? Here is a quick and easy tutorial for this garden sign. First take 3 wood floor slats and cut them 22″ in length.  Then glue the tongue and grooves together of each slat using wood glue. The wood flooring pieces are exactly 5″ in width. By putting all 3 strips together the…

Just add Ice Cream Quick and Easy Gift Basket

    April 27, 2017 / 2 Comments

Check out this adorable Ice Cream Gift Basket that I put together for a friend. I knew her Birthday was coming up so I wanted to do something inexpensive yet fun and tasty for her to not only enjoy for herself but for her family to enjoy also. I’ll show you how easy this basket was to put together. First the basket was given to me for free! It has the perfect handles and large enough to put several items in it. I could have painted it but I chose to leave it natural. The Dollar store is a great place to find inexpensive items and that is where I found…

Drip Drip Drop April Showers Watering Can Easter Gift Basket

    April 11, 2017 / 0 Comments

Today I’m excited to share with you how my Drip Drip Drop April Showers Watering Can Easter Gift Basket came together. Who doesn’t love a good deal?  I usually purchase my seasonal supplies a year in advance after the holiday when they are on clearance for 80 to 90 percent off.  Last year I found these darling watering cans at an outlet store near me. These cans would make perfect friend Easter Baskets so I purchased several of them because the price was too good to pass up.  As Easter has been approaching I knew I would be filling them but I wanted it to be clever and fit with…

    April 6, 2017 / 0 Comments

Don’t you just love it when something sparks your creativity?  While browsing the web for Easter decoration ideas I was looking at a picture to realize that only half of the picture was on my computer screen.  What I thought was just bunny ears was actually a whole wooden bunny! I loved the idea of just a set of wooden bunny ears as a decoration instead of a whole bunny.  So, I decided to create my own template and made these DIY Glittered Bunny Ears Easter Decoration. To make your own DIY Glittered Bunny Ears Easter Decoration you will need: Press board or other wood White paint Pink paint Pink…

    Wood Stained Small Framed Signs

    March 21, 2017 / 0 Comments

This post may be short and simple as I didn’t take pictures of the steps along the way. So sorry I don’t have a tutorial for you! But I just had to show you how cute these little signs turned out! Hubby created two small boxes out of leftover wood that we had in our garage. He used the Kreg Jig to put the corners together. He filled the holes with putty and sanded the frames down. I stained them with a dark stain and let them dry. While they were drying I took a piece of plywood (thin wood) and made backs to fit on the back side of…
