T-Shirt Pom Pom’s

So I found a cute idea here and found it quite fun to try it! Let me tell you though some of these professional crafters make it look super easy and after cutting through my fingernail, cussing and wailing in pain I found out they are pretty darn cute!!
With some time and some old tee-shirts I was excited to make these.
I followed her tutorial pretty closely and I know my mother would be proud to know that I used the Christmas gift she gave me to cut out the strips of fabric.. Look mom!!

Now just to work on getting my lines a little more straight.
If you choose to try this and follow the tutorial, my advice would be:
#1 do not cut the strips to little as yes they can break (I learned this while trying to tie the knot together on the red one)
#2 On the white pom pom I tried to double up on the strips and did two at a time. My advice is to only do one strip and to use adult shirts as kids shirts do not give you enough strips.
#3 I tried 4 different types of sissors before I realized no matter how sharp the sissor is that it can still be difficult to cut through.

My stallion husband saw my frustration and brought in his tin snips & cut right through the fabric for me.
I made a template just as was described and it worked perfectly!

Another lesson I learned is if you cut to large of strips they don’t curl up as cute so stick to around 1/2″
I am dying to make more for my daughters room and am probably going to try to make them a bit bigger!! THANKS to Craftaholics anonymous for all your fun ideas!
