Robot Valentine kids tutorial with free printable
Robot Valentine kids tutorial with free printable
I made these valentine robots 5 years ago when my son was in preschool! Back then printables were just coming to light and if you made them, you were probably a graphic designer. The first time I made these, I typed up the saying in word and then stamped a heart in the background. This time I have created a free printable for you to use!! And there are 8 prints on a page. I also had a really great helper today! My son is now 9 and I was so surprised at how much he loved this valentine and making it all by himself! You can print and buy the supplies and let the kids take over on this one! I guess you know what valentine we are making for my son’s class. Here is a step by step picture tutorial.
First gather your supplies. I purchase the boxed candy hearts, Starbursts, Jolly ranchers, and google eyes. Here is the valentine nuts and bolts print.
Turn on your hot glue gun and make sure it is a low temperature one so your kids don’t get burned! You can also use regular crafting glue but I have found kids aren’t patient enough to wait for that to dry.

This is where I turned the project over to my son. He glued the printable on the box of hearts first
then he glued a Starburst on top for the head.

Next he glued the eyes onto the Starburst head

He glued 2 more Starbursts on the bottom for feet

Finally he glued 2 Jolly ranchers onto the sides for arms and he was finished! Isn’t it funny how the Starburst wrapper makes his robot look like it’s sad? Although, Mr. Robot is still cute! Make sure you look at the placement of your wrappers, unless you want a sad valentine robot

That is just super cute. I think I want to make one of these to give my son for Valentine’s Day. Or maybe he could make one for his dad.

This is such a great craft for boys to do. This is perfect for Valentines Day for them to still show their love and creativity.

I like that the kids can be hands on and actually do this too. I totally think Chandler could make these for his class. Fun idea!
