Red and Turquoise pillows

We all have days like this:

You know.. the days that your friend shows up on your doorstep with a mug like this and about 10 packets of your favorite kind of tea. Then she proceeds to listen to you wallow in your self pity.. or in my case my friend listens while she whips all these pillows up for my family room.

She took old pillows from my couch and turned them into these:

Because she knows me so well, she knows that while I roll around on her craft room floor eating chocolate and telling her how crummy I feel about life she will make sure I  leave her house with a smile. She will do this by stenciling a pattern onto fabric, then turning it into yet another pillow. (yes, she stenciled the red pillow with paint)

Secretly she knows that this will turn my frown into a smile, because she gets me. She gave me fabric for my home that she probably bought for herself to put somewhere in her home because that is the type of friend she is.

Half way into the day and pillow making process (that I had no plans of doing that day) I found myself jumping on board  by stuffing the pillows, cutting the fabric out and picking out my own embellishments.

Before I know it the music is cranked, I am making rosettes for the pillows, and she has me laughing hysterically.  Because that is the kind of person she is.

Three hours later, I have a new mug with my favorite tea, I have oodles of new pillows for my basement family room couch, I have a smile on my face and I recognize I am very lucky to have a friend who always knows how to make me smile.

To top it off I have a teenage son who knows he gets to move them off the couch before sitting down!  No touch towels have nothing on the new no touch pillows 😉
