I am the parental guardian of a 13 year old!! My First born Kaden Lex Virgin is officially a teenager.
Kaden came into the world on July 22, 1996. He was 8 lbs 11 1/2 oz. and 22 inches long! His head was covered in jet black hair & I was in love.

Kaden was always on the go & whatever he set his mind to – he accomplished. He is still that way today. It is either all or nothing with this kid.

When he gets his mind on something he doesn’t let go of the idea until he has “got it” He is very smart & such good kid.

Kaden is very wise beyond his years and sometimes I feel like he is more of a parent to me than I am to him. He worries about things that no kid at his age should have to worry about. He has been one of my greatest teachers & he definately has changed my life for the best.

I have often been told that people think he is 14 or 15. He gets compliments on how fun he is to be around & his church leaders praise at what a good kid he is to particiapate at church. He is currently a Deacon in our ward & LOVES the scouting program! He has been up at 6:00 a.m. multiple times to help set up the flags on holidays when most kids are sleeping in!

Kaden is very talented – he can wakeboard, snowboard, skateboard and he loves to ride “the hog” aka his motorcycle. Grandpa’s snow machines have also been a highlight in Kaden’s life. He loves to golf & would golf more often if he had the opportunity. My parents have taken him a couple of times.

Kaden has a great sense of humor & a lot of people think he is hilarious.. as you can see nothing holds him back from having a good time. He even won an award for this costume!

Kaden has a great love for the outdoors. He jumps at every opportunity to go camping with the scouts & has been asking to go backpacking the last little while. He loves being in the mountains & all that boy stuff! He even has his own fishing pole & fishing license!

He loves his X box & playstation – although he is good to not sit in front of them much. He is so active but he does like a friend to join him in playing his video games!

Kaden is always willing to help out & has mowed my lawn & taken out my garbage more times then I can even count.
He loves to cook & makes a MEAN peanut butter chocolate reeses type dessert. He is always wanting me to try new things or help him learn a new dessert to cook. He made dinner yesterday that included mashed potates, corn & gravy that he made himself (with a little coaching from mom)

Kaden has had the same best friend Adam for the past 3 years since we moved to Syracuse. He is sharing a locker with Adam this year at school. They ran track together this past year & I have claimed Adam on more than one occasion as my second son. Adam is a good friend to Kaden & I hope they maintain their friendship throughout high school. Kaden’s desire to run motivated me to run & he actually ran a 5K with me last month!

For his 13th Birthday Kaden requested to eat at Tepanyakki

I forgot how expensive this place is but he had a great time watching the chef prepare it right in front of us & boy oh boy did that chef have a FUNNY personality. He had us laughing hysterically on more than one occasion!

We had so much fun! Kaden came home & opened his presents – He had been asking for a sonicare toothbrush which is such a funny thing a kid would ask for but I got it for him & he loved it! He also got some xbox games, clothes etc. etc.

Kaden has saved me on so many occasions. He knows exactly when I am sad & many of times he has just come up to me to give me a hug. When I was single he would comfort me when I was crying or just crawl into bed with me & talk me through how I was feeling. He has been a true light for me & he has gone through more than a kid at his age should have. He is strong & I love him..
