Christmas

Nothing like being Santa for someone else!

I had an idea what I wanted to get for my sister in law for Christmas but knew I needed help carrying out my idea. Lia is just like a sister to me – She was married to my brother but they went through a divorce and I still consider her family. I know what it is like to be a single mom to 2 kids and how hard it is to make ends meet. I know what it is like to want new things but never being able to afford them.
My parents gave Clint and Lia their old couch set about 6 years ago. At that time the couch set was approximately 11 – 12 years old. (they purchased the couches my sophmore year in 91-92) So they were 17 or 18 years old at this point. I knew Lia had wanted some new furniture and I felt with my siblings help we could make it possible.
SOOO… Out with the old in with the new

Justin and I found a pretty good deal on a couch set & picked it up from RC Willey. I called Lia and asked her when she would be home from work so I could come bring her a small gift. We drove down in the downpouring rain and I prayed the entire time that the new couches wouldn’t get wet.
We beat Lia to her house so when she arrived home she saw us hauling the new couches up and was really confused at what was going on. Through the rain I just smiled and said Merry Christmas!

Lia on her new couch!!

Thank you to those special Santa’s helpers who made this possible.

I cried the entire way home in the car. No one can deny the feeling you get when you give to someone else and change their life for the better. Christmas has always been a special time of year for me and it means so much more to me when I know I have given.
Love you Lia I am grateful you are a part of my life.
