My little Maeli
Maeli participated in an Economics fair at her School on December 5th. I was amazed at all the little Third graders & what they learned from doing this. Each student had to come up with their own store & sell an item in their “store” During this process they had to learn about supply & demand, Wholesale & retail costs, and how to be a owner of their own business. I took the day off of work to support Maeli in this & when I showed up at the school I was surprised at what I saw. Nearly 100 Third graders selling anything all sorts of items. Scarves, Hats, Magnets, Candy, ornaments, crafts, hair bows, Soda, cinnamon rolls, toys etc.
The turn out was great! Maeli sold Chips (of course thanks to Justin) and ended up selling 48 bags!! I think she did rather well for herself! Here she is dealing with “customers”
All proceeds went towards the Third graders field trips.
Last Saturday December 13th Maeli had her Holiday violin recital. She has now been playing the violin for a year and a half. I am so proud of how well she has done.
She played “Lightly Row, Go tell Aunt Rhody and “Jingle Bells”
She did so well & I am so proud of her!

What a great idea for the third graders to do! WTG on selling 48 bags Maeli! I’m sure she was great with the customers. (Cute poncho 🙂 )
I can’t believe she’s been playing the violin that long. I’d love to hear her play sometime.

Good job Maeli! The economics fair looks like it was a great way to teach the kids about money.
She looks darling all dolled up with her violin! Good technique! 🙂
She was fun to have this summer and get to listen to her practice every day.
Charlise is working on Song of the Wind and Lightly Row. Her teacher teaches them in separate parts.

I’ve never heard of an economics fair. That is a great idea! Very impressive with the violin. I really want my children to play some kind of an instrument. I think it helps them in so many other ways 🙂
