How to make candy jars out of pickle jars
I saw this idea on Tatertots and Jello a while back ago and thought they were super easy and very cute!
Take several different jar sizes and wash them out really good. I think I used a pickle Jar, a yellow pepper jar and I also had a cherry jar and another pickle jar. I just saved them instead of throwing them away. Once I had them all nice and cleaned off (I used a magic eraser to remove any ink expiration date stamps) I washed the jars three or 4 times in the dishwasher before using them to make sure the pickle smell was completely gone.
I set to work painting the lids white. It took ALOT of coats of spray paint to cover those lids. I would definately prime them first next time. I found some glass candle holders at the dollar store and also painted those white to match the lids of my jars.
Here they are being spray painted:
once the lids and candle holders were completely covered in white paint and completely dry. I glued the base of the jar to a candlestick using E6000 and let them dry overnight. Once dry I added ribbon and some candy!
Cheap cute candy jars!
These would make a great centerpiece and they add so much color to my kitchen counters! Great gift idea too!

I like the concept, but not too sure about pickle jars in particular… that smell takes a while to go away! 😛
