How to make a framed chalkboard
Framed Chalkboard
This was a craft that I came up with for our family reunion I purchased a lot of 8X10 and 5X7 frames at a garage sale for .25cents each. I brought them home and removed the glass from them. I purchased a thin piece of wood and traced around the glass centers onto the piece of wood. Then Justin cut them out for me and I inserted the wood centers into each frame.

We removed the center of the frame and spray painted them with chalkboard spray paint
While the chalkboard spray paint dried we worked on painting our frames – this part was a little more difficult as the spray paint took forever to dry without being sticky due to the heat outside.
and of course how can you craft without an oooey goooey treat??
After several coats of paint and chalkboard paint were applied I assembled them all back together. Look how cute they all turned out!
Here is what mine looks like all finished up! I bought some chalk markers that are less mess than normal chalk but they do require using a wet rag to remove the words.

and of course I cannot make one for myself without making one for my girlfriend also!
