Handmade “Merry” Cards
You know how Avry and I roll, we love to give handmade gifts and cards that have a personal touch. This year for our card group I chose to make this simple Merry card. Sometimes simple is the right answer. I love the balance of this card and how it all comes together. To make this card I started with white cardstock, I cut the card stock in half at 4 1/4 inches, then folded it in half to give me a card base that is 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″. Next I selected 4 Christmas patterned papers. I cut 3/4″ X 4″ strips and clipped a V out of each strip. I glued the top of the strips next to each other in the center of the card base. I used my personal cutting machine to cut the word Merry out of a gold metallic card stock. I used pop up dots on the back of the Merry to give it a 3-D effect. Last I glued a white fluffy ribbon across the top of the paper strips and then attached a red felt flower with a gold bead in the center using hot glue. What kind of holiday cards are you making this year?
