Got Turkey??
I admit I am old fashioned in some ways. I like a traditional holiday. I like to be home for my holidays. I want the Turkey, the stuffing, the Yams and potatoes. I want cranberries, with hot rolls & lots of pie. None of this eating chinese food on Thanksgiving or Christmas for me. NO traveling to Hawaii or somewhere exotic either. I like tradition. I like to be home enjoying my loved ones. I host Thanksgiving at my house every year for my family and to be honest I really enjoy it. I shopped for the perfect tablecloth that was the right color along with the right size. I bought new Gravy boats & Justin made sure I had a Big beautiful platter to serve Turkey on. I searched for the perfect centerpiece and dusted off my holiday glasses. I made special cranberry drinks and tried different pies.
I made an appetizer veggie tray and filled candy dishes. Of course I wanted everything to be perfect. Guests included my parents, my brother Geoff & his wife, and my brother Jason. Small group of us but perfect indeed!
Everyone Hanging out waiting for Dinner to be served
Justin carving the Turkey for us! My mom made the stuffing & stuffed Tom the Turkey for me this year. He was 22 lbs and YUMMY!
Dinner all set & ready to eat!
3 layered pumpkin spice pie that I made
New recipe I tried – Turtle pumpkin pie – if you want the recipes let me know!
I can’t have Thanksgiving without marshmallowed Yams! mmm
But after all this perfection there is one thing I love the most. It is a tradition I have carried on for 3 years now. It is called the Gratitude board
This board usually appears the first of November & stays up until Christmas cards take over the fridge. This board is open for anyone and everyone to write on. This board is a place to write everything that we are grateful for.
I love this board. I love that I am okay with whatever is written on there. I am grateful that my children have two families that they love & that they love their bed heaters too!
I am truely blessed!

Your Thanksgiving looked delicious and beautiful! I definitely need your pie recipes. 🙂
Your Christmas card was such a great picture of the family. Thank you! I don't think I'll get one out this year. 🙁
LIFE IS GOOD!
It was good and thanks for having us for several days:)

Looks good Avry. Someday maybe I'll have the courage to do Thanksgiving dinner. Loved your Christmas card by the way.

I am with you….the tradition is what makes it Thanksgiving! lol I do think I need those pie recipes though! lol
I had to make our own Thanksgiving this year since my MIL was in PA helping Kevin's grandmother. My FIL refused to come (said it wasn't a home without her so he wasn't celebrating). Anyway, I sent a plate of food over to him even though he told me not to (I can be just as stubborn as he is!). He called the next day when he ate it and said it was an excellent meal (he DOES NOT give out compliments) so it must have been TERRIFIC! (Well I think it was anyway, but it must have been even better than I thought for him to call and say something about it AND to tell my MIL also! lol) Now I know I can make my own Thanksgiving meal and it will turn out great! (I was really worried about the rolls!)
Okay now I am babbling! lol Anyway, I will send you an email on FB so we can exchange addresses for next year and also so you can have my regular email to send me these recipes! lol
