Get your peeps on – wood plaque

Although peeps are on my list of gag candy to eat I sure do think those fluffy little marshmallow guys are cute.  Although I have used a peep like for a marshmallow when making a S’more and it was tasty!  But to eat them plain it is all I can do to choke one down.   However when you put those little guys into a craft they suddenly become a favorite of mine!

I took a 12×12 inch pine board and painted it yellow

While it was drying I took a peeps svg file that my friend emailed me and cut 12 peeps out of vinyl on my cricut.   I stacked them upside down from one another so I could fit more peeps on my 6×12 mat.  I should have pressed my vinyl down a little better so it wouldn’t bubble but once I pulled the peeps off it didn’t matter because I could smooth out the creases.

Instead of using the actual peeps I removed them from the middle of my vinyl and used the outer edges / extra vinyl to use as a stencil on my 12×12 board.  (see the picture below.) Once the stencil was stuck down on the painted yellow board I began sponging the peeps white with a sponge brush.  This can bleed through if you use too much paint so I just dab. until the entire peep looks white.

Once this part was complete I did the same things with my wording. I used my cricut to cut out the saying and used two different fonts to make it look a little more fun & funky!   I decided to add some color to the board so I used blue and pink.  I then came up with a phrase that I thought would be cute and painted away.

Once I removed the vinyl I sanded down the top of the board then passed it on along to Krystal.  She added some bling bling of glitter (because a girl can never have too much bling in her life!!)

So ….. Go on check it out and “GET YOUR PEEPS ON!!”
