Celine Dion

I wish I would have had my camera.

In November of 2007 Justin jumped online & fought the fight for our chance to see Celine Dion in concert for her “Taking Chances” tour that was coming to Salt Lake in November 2008. Within 3 hours of tickets going on sale they were sold out but luckily Justin was able to get us some!!

We waited patiently for a year to see her in concert to find out that the week of the concert she cancelled it because she was sick & rescheduled it for Sunday February 22nd.. GASP!! A SUNDAY?? I know a lot of people backed out but I DIDN’T CARE what day of the week it was on because I knew God would forgive me if that was the worst I was going to do. My parents on the other hand backed out leaving us with two extra tickets that opened up the opportunity for us to invite someone else to go with us. So we invited Wes & Erin Godfrey & they went with us!

When we arrived to the Energy Solutions Arena I really wasn’t surprised to see that it was PACKED & almost every seat was filled.

What an amazing night! Now I know some of you may not be Celine Dion fans but I AM & all I can say is she put on the best concert I have ever seen. I was mesmerized by her beautiful voice & could have sat there for another several hours just listening to her. She took the time to apologize to the audience for making us wait to see her & having to reschedule the concert. She was definately a very classy lady that had a fun personality. She actually talked to the audience & let us see what type of person she was. She spoke of her 81 year old mother that was on tour with her & about her 8 year old son. She was very down to earth & never once missed a single note while singing. I am still star struck thinking about it.

I didn’t take my camera in due to there being a “no picture taking” policy on the tickets but once inside I realized how many camera’s were really going off & I was so upset I didn’t bring it in. The pictures I took with my cell phone just don’t do it justice.
Anyhow I give the concert two thumbs up & would probably even pay double of what I did to see her again & sit a little closer! She was amazing!
