Cedar Sign Post for each holiday
Pumpkins Apples and Hayrides
My husband got this idea that if he built one post to put in the ground that I could rotate signs out for every holiday. So, he bought some cedar 4×4 (yes their actual size is 4X4) Some tend to be smaller but these posts are true to the 4×4 size. He notched out the wood by using a saw and chisel. He made the post approximately 8′ tall but when put 2′ into the ground it stands around 6′ tall. The notch in the post let the other post lay sideways into it. So, the opening of the notch out is 4″ so they fit snug together. AND WHO SAYS A MAN DOESN’T LIKE TO CRAFT??
When we first put the post in the ground many people thought we were putting our house up for sale until we got the sign on it! I kind of laughed at this and how people jump to conclusions! The sign is made from some leftover cedar slats we had from our Halloween count down’s from last year. My girlfriend came up with the template which we used from this super cute craft! EllaClaire
When I took these pictures it was raining a little so the post may look a little darker in some areas. My girlfriend (crafter in crime) Krystal came up with the template.
I then purchased some wrought iron corner pieces to add some character to the posts.
I love fall and the weather has definitely started getting cooler! I love when pumpkins start showing up!
Justin added metal clips that so I can change this sign out for every season or holiday. My mind is racing with all the signs I can do for each holiday! The sky is the limit!
What a fun way to dress up the yard and I am Super excited to show you the sign we are creating for next month to hang on our posts!
