How to make a framed chalkboard
Framed Chalkboard This was a craft that I came up with for our family reunion I purchased a lot of 8X10 and 5X7 frames at a garage sale for .25cents each. I brought them home and removed the glass from them. I purchased a thin piece of wood and traced around the glass centers onto the piece of wood. Then Justin cut them out for me and I inserted the wood centers into each frame. We removed the center of the frame and spray painted them with chalkboard spray paint While the chalkboard spray paint dried we worked on painting our frames – this part was a little more difficult…

Mother’s day picture plaque
Mother’s day picture plaque I took a little break from blogging- well two weeks isn’t so little but had to play catch up in other areas of my life! I lost a little of my crafting mojo but it soon returned. Mother’s day is coming up and I had a friend ask me if I wanted to swap salon services for craft items. I jumped on the idea and started stalking her pinterest boards to see what fun crafty things she was pinning that I could make. She mentioned that she had found an idea for her mom for mother’s day so I found what she was talking about and…

Photo frame redo
Photo frame redo I’m on a mission to re do my family room so in the next few posts you will get to see what colors I have chosen and watch my family room transform! Here is a sneak peak at one of my first little projects for the room. I bought these ugly homecoming frames at Michael’s 90% off clearance sale. So I got them for .39 cents each. I also took this cute file folder to use as my “picture” for my frames. I cut the file folder to the desired size (5×7) I painted them a turquoise color then glazed over the top with some turquiose glitter.…

How to make a framed vintage Christmas tree
Framed Vintage Christmas Tree Art Do you have an over abundance of trinkets, buttons, broken necklace pieces or old rings? Don’t throw them away! This next Christmas project fits perfectly in my front office in my home. This framed art was made by my friend Krystal. She took an old frame (found at a garage sale of course) then she took some scrapbook paper that looked like a piece of sheet music (or you can actually use sheet music) then away she glued… Trinkets, buttons, gems & jewels all into the shape of a christmas tree. To top it off she bedazzled it with a little glitter! Who can NOT…

Living room make over reveal and decorating ideas
My sister’s living room make over reveal I had the opportunity to make over my sister’s living room. It was such a whirlwind putting it all together that some of my pictures are from my phone, her phone and her camera. The transformation was fun to watch and we did it on a pretty strict budget. I would say overall this living room makeover was done for under $100.00 Now some people will ask how I could do it for so cheap? Let me tell you two words… GARAGE SALES. One man’s junk is another mans treasure. It is amazing what paint, spray paint and old frames, fabric, and time…

Dry erase board out of a picture frame
I purchased a few cheap 12×16 picture frames from Wal-mart for $3.00 a piece and brought them home, cut out scrapbook paper and attached it to the inside of the frame. I used double sided tape to stick the 12×12 sheets together then just cut off the remaining amount of paper before I attached it to the inside of the frame. I have seen these all over lately and decided to make a few. I have seen them used for grocery lists, caledars, or just for a Honey do list 😉 I added some ribbon and rosettes just to spice them up a little bit. I also used my cricut…

Decorative Tray made from a picture frame
I saw this idea on tater tots and jello but did mine just a bit different. I took a 8×10 frame and painted it black. I also painted some old wood knobs that I had black. Once dry I took the knobs and glued them onto the bottom of the frame. On the inside I took scrapbook paper and cut it to size to fit into the frame. I added some decorative ribbon along the edges then put it in between the glass and backing of the frame. Set it on the table added my .25 cent garage sale metal bucket. Did a printable into a frame and look how…

Beadboard Frames
I really try to be frugal when I craft but sometimes my ideas turn out to be more of a pain then what I bargain for. So I found these frames at a garage sale for .25 cents a piece and thought oh those would be a piece of cake to redo. I took them home and as you can see they had scrapbook paper mod podged onto them. Piece of cake to remove right? WRONG! I peeled back the first layer to find yet another layer. Then just tore back the corner to reveal probably 3 more layers of scrapbook paper and mod podge. Coated on the bottom and…

Home is where your story begins…
I went through a phase of not blogging because I couldn’t ever think of things to blog about. Until someone once told me to blog about what I love. So I began blogging about my creations yes my crafts.. the one thing I love to do is craft. I always have loved it and I probably always will. I learned how to use a scroll saw in my teens when my mom and dad patiently taught me. I was scared of the blade at first but kept trying. I am old fashioned in some ways and one of those ways is by giving gifts that come from some time, thought…
