Distressed Valentines Board
I love when you can take help from freebie or inexpensive craft files. I found this darling cut file on the Silhouette online store. It was on sale so for .75 I was able to snatch up this fun little valentines saying. I love the way the designer arranged all of the words and fonts. This was a quick fun project. I cut a wood scrap to about 12″ x 12″. I painted a layer of red paint, then let it dry and painted a few coats of white paint over top. While it was drying I resized the cut file to fit my board. I cut the wording in red…

Shaped Pallet Snowman for sale sign
I am still not ready for Valentines yet! I have been having fun dreaming up ways to decorate in January. Here is the latest decoration that I have made. I saw something with the cute saying “Snowmen for sale Cheap! Assembly required”. It was just a plain old board. I loved the idea of snowmen for sale. I came up with this fun way to display it. To create my fun snowman sign. I used 3-4 pallet boards, I laid the boards next to each other and then free handed a snowman shape on them. Next I cut the boards using a jigsaw (it’s ok if they are not perfect…

Glittered Wooden Ice Skates
I always feel a little sad after all my Christmas decor is down. I miss the twinkling lights and all of the fun bright colors. So, I want the transition after the holidays not to be so gloomy. I’ve created a beautiful display of snowflakes and ice skates in my home to still keep the winter theme throughout January. I’ve incorporated silver, aqua and winter white into my January. I’ve been looking for some real ice skates throughout the summer at garage sales and couldn’t ever find any. (but I’m not willing to give up yet) So I searched out a cute pattern of Ice skates and found this pattern…

Snowflake Charger
I love after Christmas shopping! Finding all those great deals items marked 75-90 percent off. While I was doing a little after Christmas shopping, I came across these darling ice blue chargers. They were marked 80 percent off, the minute I saw them I knew I could use them for a January themed decor. I snatched them up for .50 each! Next I came home and found a detailed snowflake image. I cut the snowflake out of white vinyl using my personal cutting machine. I centered and applied the snowflake to the charger. Last I hot glued a few silver jewels to make it pop! This project took about 10…

Vintage Winter Carnival Board
I have been feeling like my January décor is still lacking. I have been looking for ideas to add to my home décor. I came across a vintage winter carnival design online. I really liked the idea. The sign I found had a lot of yellow and red in it, I wasn’t really digging the color scheme it was done in. I decided to design my to own to fit with my blue and white winter décor for January. I used most of the same wording and added a few of my own ideas to the winter contest area of the board. I designed the wording using my personal cutting…

Reversible Snowman & Scarecrow board
My sweet neighbor had mentioned a while back she was interested in making a board similar to this one. She had posted a picture and asked if anyone wanted to help her make one. While I was deciding what I would be giving or making for my neighbors for Christmas, I knew that I must make my wonderful neighbor this fun snowman scarecrow board. I used a piece of primed bead board, Which I distressed first. Next I painted chipboard circles and cut a carrot nose shape out of chipboard. I painted the chipboard black and nose piece orange and then sanded the edges. I painted the top 1/4 of…

Jack Frost Sign
Christmas and New years celebrations wind down and all those fun decorations get put away. January can be kind of bleak and boring! Last year we started making decorations for January. This year we have decided to make a few more fun things to add to our January decorations collection. We are going with a blue and white winter theme. A while ago I cut out several of these bracket board shapes. We painted the bracket boards white and then cut a few different snowflakes out of vinyl using my personal cutting machine. We placed the vinyl snowflakes all over the board and then painted over top of the snowflakes…

Ice Skate Rentals
Here is another great way to decorate for January, using Ice Skates. Avry found several cute ideas using ice skates and then I jumped on the wagon and made up this fun little sign for Ice Skate Rentals. I started out with some old kitchen décor boards. They were in the donate pile and then I thought I could reuse those, I pulled them out and gave them a coat of gray paint. While they were drying, I set up a template with the wording and pair of ice skates. I cut the wording out of a teal vinyl using my personal cutting machine. I cut the vinyl about…

Reindeer Subway Art Board
As I was skimming across the craft store sunday ads. I came across a picture of a deer that had all of santas reindeers names in its belly. I immediently fell in love for the design. I have never had luck finding items that are in an ad. It seems once I get to the store they are sold out and don’t have the exact items in stock that were displayed in the ads. I decided not to waste time running to the store. The picture looked simple enough to recreate. For this project I used to pieces of wood flooring that I glued together. My board measures about 12″…

Mrs. Clause Café Iron on Kitchen towel
Another great find over at Fynes designs. She has a darling Mrs. Clause Café sign!!! I am envious of it! I would love to make one to hang in my kitchen for the holidays. However my projects list is just to long, I will just to be content with my version ” A kitchen towel”. Have you ever used printable iron on sheets? They are one of my favorite things. They are easy to use and make projects so easy. I printed the Mrs. Clause Café sign onto one of these iron on sheets. Next I centered and ironed it onto one of my flour sack towels. I pinned a…
