A Texas storm & the people of town Gurry
Is town Gurry real or is it made up? Ask any third grader in Maeli’s class & they will say it is real.
Last Thursday Maeli’s class performed a musical that they created on their own. Their teacher is very musically talented so she was able to assist the class in turning their words into music. They decided to go with it & turn it into a play/musical.
The musical took place in Texas in a small town. There were farmers, cows, field mice, lizards etc. etc. (you get the picture) a huge storm comes & destroys the town but all the people & animals are safe. The people of town Gurry decide to move to another town to start their lives over. But when they get to the other town they realize it is a ghost town & has been taken over by ghosts (Maeli was one of the ghosts) To decide who is going to live in the town they did a game of rock, paper, sissors. Guess what?? It was a tie so they choose to all live together in harmony.. The end!
Not so for a mother of a daughter who was in this play.. Yep I get to listen to the cd of the prerecorded songs over and over and over again to relive the experience! Gotta love kids!
Here is Maeli (aka Texas ghost) and her friend Taya

That’s so fun that they got to use their own story! Maeli makes a cute ghost. I’m still wondering about that cow in the first picture, lol.
